'Ascendant' Moves Forward on TV; Here's What We Know
Last year we heard that Lionsgate planned to debut The Divergent Series: Ascendant on television rather than in theaters. The intention was then to launch a TV series with the same post-apocalyptic setting.
Shortly before the announcement was made, Lionsgate announced a deal to acquire the Starz premium cable service. That deal was finalized last December. Now comes word via Deadline that Starz will be the home for the series, based on Veronica Roth's novels.
Here's what we know so far.
Who will write and develop the series?
